Why a brief message? Because the Bible says in Matthew 6: 7,8 not to babble like the unsaved when you pray or, as the King James version puts it, “use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do”. Have you ever seen people chant the same thing over and over, thinking that their many words somehow brings them closer to God? They don’t. The Bible says not to be like them because the Lord already knows what you need before you ask him.
Praying to God is for your benefit, not his. It’s to give you peace of mind, knowing in your heart that God has heard about your needs. It’s not to actually tell God something that he needed to know since he knew your needs long before you asked him to help you. Simply tell him that you have an issue and don’t know what to do or tell him that you feel lost and don’t know your purpose in life. Then leave the rest to him.
